Welcome to Vanta Piercing & Fine Jewelry Studio - a private, husband-and-wife-owned and operated piercing studio located inside Memorial Brooklyn in Brooklyn, New York.
Founded by Matt and Dacia Mayfield, Vanta offers a personal, appointment-based piercing experience centered on expertise, artistry, and thoughtful service. Matt brings 15 years of professional piercing experience, specializing in ear and facial piercings, precise placement, and curated ear styling. Every appointment is one-on-one, comfortable, and never rushed.
We work exclusively with solid 14k gold and implant-grade ASTM F-136 titanium from trusted jewelry makers. We use fully disposable piercing equipment and maintain rigorous standards for safety, hygiene, and aftercare. Jewelry purchased at Vanta includes a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.

Matt Mayfield
Co-Owner / Piercer
Originally from Dallas, Texas, Matt Mayfield has called New York City home since 2018 and brings 15 years of professional piercing experience to Vanta.
Over the course of his career, Matt has worked at respected piercing and tattoo studios in both New York and Dallas, including New York Adorned and The End Is Near in Brooklyn. His work has taken him beyond the studio to New York Fashion Week, private events, and pop-ups, and his expertise has been featured in publications including Allure, VICE, PopSugar, and Bustle, among others. His longtime client base extends well beyond New York, with clients traveling to the city specifically to be pierced by him.
Known for his calm, welcoming approach and exceptional bedside manner, Matt has a way of putting clients at ease - whether it’s their first piercing or one of many. He specializes in ear and facial piercings, precise placement, and curated ear styling, taking the time to consider each client’s anatomy, personal style, and goals.
For Matt, a great piercing experience is about more than the piercing itself. He takes pride in creating an environment where clients feel comfortable, informed, and never rushed, from consultation through aftercare.
Matt co-owns Vanta with his wife, Dacia, and when he’s not in the studio, you can usually find him exploring New York City and spending time with his family.
Tesh Cwalino
Piercer
Tesh’s thoughtful approach to piercing stems from his years of experience in music, jewelry, design, and performance art. His fascination with self-adornment began when he discovered the life work of Fakir Musafar, who used suspension and body modifications as ceremonial practice and magic technology. Tesh treats piercing as a means of imprinting one’s essence into the flesh, as an act of self-making.
In 2019, after a career in the music industry, Tesh stumbled into a three-year-long apprenticeship at the now-closed New York Adorned under the mentorship of head piercer Matthew Mayfield. This led to the creation of Vanta Studio in 2025, where he now brings his passion for piercing to Brooklyn.
Tesh maintains a keen eye for aesthetic balance while celebrating his clients’ distinctive vision, particularly enjoying conch piercings and custom pieces. He is most fulfilled when his clients embrace piercing as a vehicle to better understand and express themselves.
Dacia Sigler Mayfield
Co-Owner / Creative Director
As Co-Owner and Creative Director of Vanta, Dacia Mayfield works behind the scenes to shape the studio’s brand and help keep the business running. She manages Vanta’s social media, website, and digital content while supporting the day-to-day operations and administration of the studio.
Outside of Vanta, Dacia has spent her career in education and leadership and has always been drawn to creativity, design, and building things with purpose. At Vanta, she brings that perspective to the studio’s visual identity, storytelling, and online presence while working alongside her husband, Matt, to grow the independent business they’ve built together.
When she’s not working on Vanta, Dacia can usually be found exploring New York City with Matt and their dogs, hunting for vintage finds, or working on one of her many creative projects.
